I first met Phelan in MSN Gor about 15 years ago. At that time, I was between homes, and often visited High Plains, where Thunderwolf was also staying. I got to know these fine gentlemen over many nights of ale, paga, and slave girls, but most importantly, fellowship. One day, I was offered to become a member of their home. We held grass and earth together and became Brothers, and I was taught the ways of the Wagon Peoples. All good things come to an end, as we all eventually went our separate ways. However, we maintained contact and shared our scrolls and treatments. Phelan was a unique individual with a definitive taste for slave flesh. We had our disagreements over Physician issues, but always came to a resolution. When he needed help with something, I responded, and vice versa. We were always there for each other.
​I knew he had health issues, which he spoke of and always seemed to rebound. I was truly saddened to hear of his passing. Regardless of what some people thought of his abilities, he was an integral and influential member of the Caste, and his memory will remain there.
​On Friday March 16, from 6 to 8pm CST, I will hang a portrait of Phelan in the lobby of the Thunderwolf Memorial Hospital, illuminated by a single candle. Those who wish to stop in and reflect and pay their respects are welcome to do so. No ceremony will take place. This my way of honoring Phelan and his contributions to the Caste of Physicians.
