This was not intended to be an affront to those of the Land of the Free. It was intended as humour, but it seems it was not taken as such by one of You and the response was not pleasant. I deleted the post immediately but the Lady has now posted Her Own response, in that she wishes My guts to rot. It seems I misjudged the humour .. for that I apologise, but I take offence to Her response!!
What a vitriolic response by Kyrielle, one we had always considered a friend and had enjoyed r/p in Helisto recently! How could she ever have considered this to be any more than humour? Surely most of America can see this as it was intended - UK humour? We were flabberghasted by her response - Aneesha was in tears that her words could be so misconstrued! Do other Americans see this as some sort of slight on their honour or has the great USA now lost its sense of humour???
i don't care how you garb or not as the case WAS in front of your slave. But its the HEIGHT of disrespect not to garb while speaking to a free woman. Really. It is.
Yes. It MATTERS that you were standing NAKED while speaking to me. And failed to inform me of it when I first logged in. Along the lines of " oh, I'm naked by the way". I'd of turned around and left on the spot. As would ANY self respecting free woman. So no. I'll not be back. Only the PRIEST KINGS know what you'll do next.
YUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
I think it's hilarious, I love it! I'm so sorry that the words of another were so shockingly bitter and hurtful. Please know that not all Americans are so easily offended.
The image is quite hilarious, as I find the majority of British humour. As far as the vitriol endured in response, it is unfortunate it yielded tears. It didn't merit any. The title of the thread and opening line before the image were ample indication it was meant in good-spirited jest.
I find it hilarious : ) But then, I love British humor. Why Kyrielle is even a blip on anyone's screen by now is beyond me, though I do admit the screaming can be annoying. Anyway, God save the Queen and all that rot! ~niece of a proud (and departed) Korean War Veteran.
Oh and by the way - the only way I even noticed this post was the outrage, and the response to the outrage. Guess that "outrage" accomplished something...
Correction: "Why Kyrielle's ANTICS are even a blip" should have been my verbiage. I will not demean the character personally, nor the human behind her.
Coming in late and seeing the explanation that it was meant for Humor I guess I can see that side of it.. Had I not seen the truth behind the post the word treason would have upset me...but in the end from a purely English point of view it was exactly that. The Think I really want to know is why was Mr. T naked
It was treason from any point of view, as the people at the time well knew. Revolutions are inherently treasonous. It was felt to be justified, and with the Colonials the victors history agrees, with it ultimately becoming idealized, and later romanticized, over time. Had the tide of war gone the other way the penalty for treachery would have befell them, also as the people of the time well knew.
