After a suitable amount of time which I can neither count nor determine I felt it was right to leave the city of Ugetti which I had named after the people who lived here on this city in the clouds on the Island of Katoteros which I had not completely explored as I was so occupied by the documents which provided the History of this city and it’s people. What I now know is that a great fire from the sky struck the getti people and left them stripped of flesh and standing in formation ready for battle against the Ugetti people. It was written down by the scribe Ohenuis who witnessed the event from the walls of the mountain city. He described in detail the melting of flesh and the screams of a thousand warriors which reached the inner sanctum of all who were above. Ohenuis went on to record the fateful day when a war party went down to check for survivors and returned with an offensive sore on their bodies. The Caste of Physicians could not find a cure for this loathsome sore which spread among the Ugetti killing hundreds daily. Those that hid themselves from contact lasted the longest but as I had discovered not one person escaped alive. The last entry in Ohenuis scroll simply read “The End”…and so the great wealth and splendid architecture are here but there is none but me, a simple Warrior and His War tarn Stealth to enjoy the fruits of their accomplishments and the power of their wealth.
I took from my pouch a well used tarn whistle and blasted one note for a tarn is well trained to respond to one note only-- therefore it is of great importance that a Warrior not lose his tarn whistle for if he does then he has lost His mount. The loud sound of the whistle bouncing off rocks and walls floating downward till it was heard by Stealth who with a screech that would bring fear to any mortal the great Bird rose into the skies. He rose high above me and circled the place I stood and with great wonder descended with His long talons clenched till he arrived beside me, His long wings held majestically outward.
The flesh of some animal was still hanging from his beak so as to inform me he had enjoyed his meal and was inclined to obey. I jumped aboard the saddle and took hold of the reigns tugging on the uplift reign we rose aloft into the skies. We took note of the size of the Island which seemed to be quite larger than Helisto with great majestic mountains and beautiful waterfalls…
We continued to tour the Island for an ahn and then moved out over the water across the Tamber Bay to Port Kar…I set the tarn down near a tarn cot an gave a tarn disc to the keepers to feed and groom Stelath…I headed into the city to find a bar…some much needed paga…and perhaps…smiles a lil companionship…whatever happens will not be the focus of my next excerpt ..as that is private…smiles
