As darkness fell she picked up a small tharlarion oil lantern and turned the wick low, only a tiny bit of light radiating from it – she didnt want to be a beacon in the night, rather just not trip over something and fall flat on her face.
She began to wonder if it was maybe some sort of holiday and everyone truly had gone off to party. It appeared that there really was no one about. Very odd for the docks of port kar.... Even at night SOMEONE would be on patrol or something.
She shrugged and began poking through various cargo loads and pulling things she might need for her trip, out...
Some furs – those would be good for trading – and sleeping between, a couple crates of fruit – rewards for the beastie and something sweet for herself. Chocolate! And it looked like the good stuff too! She took extra of those, being female and all.
She made her way along the various pallets of goods recently offloaded and also ready to be on-loaded for their various destinations around the planet.
Each time, taking her looted goods to the empty warehouse where she'd ended up harboring from the storm last time she was here. Stacking them neatly as she considered how she was going to further transport from this point... She might have to hole up for a few days so the ships she'd looted from would have sailed on and she could find passage on a different ship with 'Her' cargo.
Every time she stepped back out of the empty holding facility she encountered a sense of doom, or something. It was quiet... too quiet. Something just didn't seem right, but she convinced herself that everyone was off wining and dining after their long days at sea.
She worked for the better part of the night taking things she might need – and a few things she simply wanted. This was too easy. Nothing to hide from, no danger of getting caught, it almost seemed like everything was just free for the taking.
Once she had all she figured she could take on a ship without looking too suspicious , she set about bringing the things she'd brought from the den into the warehouse, as well. Making trip after trip down the gently worn path where she'd tied off her skiff. The last thing she took from the small boat was the jit in its traveling crate. She didn't want him making noise any sooner than necessary to possibly draw attention to her presence.
Oddly, the jit remained silent , even though he'd been caged for nearly the entire day. There was no excitement from the small animal who usually demanded treats or attention. Was he sick?? She hoped not, she'd gotten kind of attached to the little fella. She peered into his crate and he peered back, and they simply stared at one another in silence before she finally asked.....
“whats going on with you? Are you unwell? You seem a little ….off”
She brought him and his little crate into the warehouse and shut the door to the docks, securing it from the inside before making her way to the office area where she'd rode out the storm last time. She knew there would be a place to sleep there as well as botas of water. It was no hotel, but it would do for a day or three.
She then took the small jit out of its confines and set it on the desk, allowing it to explore a bit while finally turning up the small lamp she'd been carrying for the better part of the night to a brightness that would help anyone easily see.
Satisfied with her surroundings she went back into the warehouse and gathered some of the fruit she'd acquired to feed the both of them before settling in for the night.
