People always ask, "what Caste should I be"?
Well my usual answer is "how the f*** do I know!"
Castes are a funny thing, either you see something instantly that you can relate to or is similar to what you do in real life but sometimes its like looking at swahili. Now if you speak fluend swahili I guess it will all make sense, otherwise its just confusing.
Gorean Castes are not unlike everyday folks just evolved into roleplay scenarios that are based on the fictional books that John Norman wrote.
There aint Warriors in real life you say, well there is, they are just called other things i.e Army, Navy, Marines etc so if that is your real life role then it would make perfect sense to play a character with the same traits.
That doesnt always follow suit, I am sure there are people who are one thing in rl and something completely different in roleplay, which is the reason they are here, to escape the reality they are living.
There is no rule or reason to Caste, it simply is a roleplay character living within the rules of that Caste.
I have listed below some Castes that are mentioned in John Normans books but they are by no means exhaustive. If its not listed it doesnt mean you cannot roleplay using what skills and knowledge you already have, adapt and change is what will keep roleplay alive.
If you decide the whole Caste thing isn't for you, there is always the likes of Outlaws, She-Urts, Talunas and of couse the Queens of the Forest, Panther Girls like Myself. We do not live within anybodys laws and City laws mean little to us however, to enable roleplay I adapt My character to fit where roleplay is taking place. Its all about working with what you have to make something viable. Im all for that and if it doesnt follow the books line by line, word for word, who gives an urts ass!
I look forward to seeing some new and interesting folks evolve in roleplay.
For now you can find myself, Wamph, Thaniel and some others in the Roleplay chat in the Gorean Island of Tyros. I look forward to meeting you!
