Another weary year has fled us
The world gets no less troubled
And we tread into Christmas a little more jaded
By the evil and corruption we see everyday.
Searing critiques and wearing insults
Have dogged us, sometimes tragically,
Yet here we are, those who are left..
So lift up your eyes to the sky
And imagine there's a Heaven
So raise your voice on high
And sing of a better world to come.
Forgive, and be forgiven,
Relent, and be not vengeful,
Turn the other cheek
And walk on, proud and humble at once,
For Christmas is the time of renewal,
Just as it has always been.
