***Disclaimer*** I very much enjoy reading the backstories that are posted, roleplay posted to either make record or share something interesting and this is in no way a criticism of it.
That being said ...
I realize we all come to roleplay for very different reasons, and mine are not the same as yours, yours are not the same as mine. This is how it shouild be. But think a moment - what is it that brings people to a "chat" setting? Interaction with other people in a real time setting. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad, but it's always different because people are different. The stories, the "screeds" the discussions on the boards can be a great addition to that experience - but when it becomes the main focus? Frankly, I can pull out my Kindle and read an interesting story.
I'll be in my wagon doing what I come here to do if you want to find me - I dont have a huge amount of time to be here, but that's where I'll be. If I have something interesting to post, I'll post it - but it will not be my main focus and I hope I've given others food for thought.
More food for thought: I met the Free Man Faolain yesterday in chat and had a perfectly respectable and interesting interaction with him. Though both he and Iskander are tightwads who refused to part with any coin to purchase my wares ... yet.
And to think - this came to my cognizance over Tarn Poop. Stranger things.
