Ok, it's that time of year again, folks! Lydius is hiring!
And it's also time to get back to actual role play! So here goes!
Lydius is SELECTIVELY hiring for the following billets/positions!
Warriors- Must be able to pass a basic test, as well as a satisfactory spar (Live steel or training weapons), have a go-ahead attitude, and demonstrate basic leadership skills.
This position is of high trust and requires constant vigilance, the ability to recognize a threat and neutralize it, by way of diplomacy or tactical action.
Magistrate- Must have experience as a Scribe, Administrator, or Merchant, however, full knowledge of the duties of a Magistrate that can be proven via a test, will be considered.
This is a position of high trust and you will be working directly with the Administrator to ensure that laws regarding the city, including civil and merchant laws, are up-to-date and recommend changes to existing laws to be compliant, and at times, advise the council on laws that should be put in place that are not currently there.
Commander of the Guard- This position will be filled by a Warrior. Overall duties will include the security of the city, it's citizens, outposts, ships, wagons, livestock and other key items. A position of high trust, and you will be working directly under the direction of the Deputy Administrator.
Sergeant of the Guard- You will be working directly under the CoG and will report directly to him.
Harbor Master- Tentative. The Harbor Master works closely with the port authorities to ensure smooth operation of the port, trade routes, dry docks, warehouses within the port, security and other aspects of shipping and trade in and out of the city. Lydius is a high volume port and this position requires attention to detail, a working knowledge of port operations and willingness to work long hours for days or weeks in a row when shipping volume is at peak volumes.
Free Men and Women- You don't have to fill a position to come be a citizen of Lydius, and good people are always welcomed!
Slaves- Yep, we need them, just like everyone else does!
For Free persons- Compensation is highly aggressive and commensurate with related experience, bonuses are paid on performance, and all citizens receive a free or very reduced price house, a wagon or mount, as well as access to all forms of transportation. These benefits kick in immediately and there is no waiting period... Welcome home!
For slaves- You will be given a shiny, gold collar, 3 hots and a cot (or kennel) as well as silks, medical care, and an occasional kiss of the whip to remind you what you are and whom for which it is you serve.
All applicants for positions listed above will need to meet directly with the Administrator of Lydius. Only direct contact with the Administrator of Lydius will be acceptable notice of interest in these positions. If you are new to Gor, you are also welcomed to Lydius, even if just to observe!
