Those who are closest to me know I have PTSD. I won't go into detail as to why I developed PTSD, it's very difficult and sensitive to talk about. Therapy has helped me work through the trauma I experienced and medication has helped with my PTSD symptoms, but sometimes, these symptoms come roaring back. I needed to take a break...from work, from chat, and from anything stressful and focus on myself. My therapist and doctor have worked together to prescribe new medications for my PTSD and I am back to seeing my therapist weekly. My mental health is important to me and putting myself first was a must. I have a great support system and I am now back to feeling like my usual self. Putting yourself and your mental health first isn't selfish...it's necessary.
