The Angel and The Wolf
Once I heard a story while sitting with my mother...
she told the tale of the Angel and the Wolf she found she loved...
My mother told this tale so sweet of an angel locked in ice...
it was said she breathed within the ice... that her beauty was unrivaled...
The myth was told she froze her heart daring not to love...
It said such sorrow touched her lips, such pain had filled her heart,
that the lovest of angels became a block of ice
It's said that one had stole her love and left her lost and wandering this world so all alone...
lost among the shadows or so the story goes...
the story was told How she walked alone her heart encased by Ice...
the violet flames that once burned with passon that boiled in her very soul
were now cold and empty the passion forever gone
her glance alone her weapon, protected her very soul,
It was said none dared to touch her, as they looked within those eyes....
it was said that to do so would forever taint the soul... and bring you to your knees
Her legend grew as they seem to do until the ice angel filled the hearts of man,
to find for themselves if the myth's were true
Many tried to find the path to melt the icy heart...
they longed to see the passion of the angel brought to life...
many tried.... so many failed... and so they lost their hearts....
Each moved away....
They went their ways her image burned forever within their souls
as the angel stayed and felt no pain, no joy, not the slightest touch of heaven
It was said that time it heals all wounds and I know not if that's true but in this tale my mother told,
that while the angel slept one eve a wolf came to her door
its said she heard it whimper ,
its said she heard its pain,
its said she heard its sorrow...
and that it her heart it answered...
its said she sprang from her bed, to run into the dark,
its said she flung wide the door as the wolf began to howl...
its said she knelt before it as the wolf it barred its teeth
prepared to rend and tear,
but something in the angel touched its very soul,
the ice within her violet eyes seemed to sooth it of its pain...
its said she knelt upon the snows the winter was without,
the wolf and the angel both creatures of the cold,
neither one it seem to note how bitter was the wind...
Its said the wolf it shook itself and stepped into her home,
its said it brushed right past her and laid before the fire...
The days they passed, as the angel moved tending to the wolf,
its said the ice around her heart, was thawed for only him...
and so the legend grew again of the angel and her wolf....
it said the wolf protected her, there in the wilderness,
its said they spent that winter...
the angel and the wolf,
locked together in her home as the winds blew colder then the ice she had wrapped around her heart
the story goes that one night as she stroked the loving wolf,
that for a moment the ice did melt,
its said she whispered words of love and the wolf became a man...
It seems the wolf had been cursed many years before,
by the very hands of fate,
to never have a home
to wander cold and all alone
The wolf was told the answer was locked within the ice,
it seems the ice was the angel and the wolf was her hearts desire
and the fates were kind for a moment
Their love it is unrivaled or so the legend is told,
and that if you wish to see the passion that is locked within the ice...
then look upon the angel as she looks upon the wolf...
for only in that moment does the angel flame to life
