once upon a dream

Once upon a dream, I shed a single tear
I heard the sweetest softest voice whispering  to me
Tell them I am coming, make my presence known
Tell them of the love I bring and that my time is short

Once upon a dream, I saw my mothers tears, 
As in pain she screamed to life the angel in my dream

Once upon a dream, I held you in my arms
I touched your face,  I felt your breath
I heard the softest coos

Once upon a dream, I watched you as you grew
You learned to crawl, then learned to walk 
and in between you spoke..

But once upon a dream, I shed a single tear
For I forgot in my joy the words the angel spoke
That in my life a short time was she, and now she has returned

Once upon a dream she now resides in heaven
And here I am beneath the clouds
Blessed for having know her…
