Shallowness is a weakness

Shallowness is a weakness

I am just a Man that lives life , real and roleplay with one golden rule

If I have some thing to say, to any one , I confront them and I say it. How it results who knows but its face to face and No where to hide.

In Rp I have lived the same. In Gor I hide from No One and confront any one and tell them what I think.

Today  started as a good day, with fresh ideas, etc

I sat with a few People and had a good open discussion with positive debate .

Not one said anything negative, We even set up a group

Then life called  and I had to go;

wasnt till after Ieft then some comments were made

We were there for some time discussing this new idea.

Everyone has their right to an opinion, I dont care in what was  said its WHEN it was said

I really dont give a shit but it pisses Me off that people dont speak up, and may be just maybe we wont waste our bloody time here.

You had ample time to simply say that to My face. Thats simply shallow.....

I still am Judas.......... Not #@$*#$@ Happy

There’s that too.

Ain’t this the same age old musings? If half the people that posted in the blogs in general made it into role play lasting longer than a hello how’s your father, Gor in general would be a busier place to encourage new people in. If people, again in general, lost the hatred and embraced our differences it might just be fun...weird thought I know but heh, give it a go you never know you might enjoy it.

I'm not sure why this is seemingly such a difficult concept to comprehend. Look at the list of rooms that have people in, click in one, roleplay. Either stay or leave, understand the nuanaces of the home you are in and accept you are responsible for your own actions. It is that simple.

ThieryWSep 28, 2018 8:05 PM

I think a lot of it depends on who owns the room(s) and the people that hang out in them. That's a big reason that I wont go so some rooms. I don't think some people here are worth it to spend the time with and lets be honest: lots of the Gor here isn't Gor.

AuraleePgSep 28, 2018 8:24 PM

So then open Your own Home and enjoy your version of Gor there? Seems reasonable to me....just saying.

ThieryWSep 28, 2018 8:31 PM

We had that in Asperiche; a city that was Gor. Besides, there are to many rooms here that don't get much play. To many to be honest. I'm not going to delude myself into thinking that I'd have a 20 person room. Those days are long past.

AuraleePgSep 28, 2018 8:35 PM

I agree "those" days are long past but "future" days are still to come. Surely building a Home with the reputation of good Gor would bring new and curious people into play? If we don't offer them a place to learn, hey will forever remain in the dark about Gor. I'm not saying for one minute things will be the same, even I'm not that deluded and take it from me, deluded and I are on first name terms, that it will ever be the numbers it was back in MSM but we owe it to Rowan et to at least "try".

AuraleePgSep 28, 2018 8:36 PM

There isn't a right or wrong in this, ideas are ideas... Im just putting mine out there..

AuraleePgSep 28, 2018 8:39 PM

Due to health I haven't been around as much as normal but when on good days I commit to opening the Lair and yes, some days I sit there without seeing a single person, other days 5/6 people pop in and its a good fun day...

When is the last time a 'new' person has been to a Gor room? Has its been said; most everyone is a retread if they are here. The last unknown name I have seen has been reya. You're absolutely correct; it'll never be like it was. I know that, but settling just to RP isn't the answer either. Say hello to deluded for me when you see her next if you would.

This isn't about Gor or roleplay, it's about "who is in charge", " who recognizes whom" and "which rules to use." It always has been and will be. There will always be cliques in Gor and the people in them are never going to care what the people who aren't think or have to say. All of us have been here long enough to know each other and we've already decided whom we think is or isn't "worthy" or a "real" Gorean. None of us are likely to change our minds about what experience has taught us

Auralee, great point about "building a home..for good Gor" This is the intent of the Trading Post. A place where the veterans can all gather and attract new people and try to get them on the right path. It will be a struggle, but I agree to at least try.

ThieryWSep 28, 2018 9:13 PM

The arguments will be about who is a veteran and who’s Gor is “real” Gor.

HaiganXSep 28, 2018 9:26 PM

All paths, even the straight and narrow ones, go in two opposite directions. Who is to say which is the right one? Isn't that really a matter of perspective? Wouldn't it depend more on where you're going and less on where you've already been?

IskanderSep 28, 2018 9:50 PM

Reya is a retread she was owned by me under the name pazia in gcn, then went to VKI

ThieryWSep 28, 2018 10:05 PM

Still haven’t heard any new ideas from you Haigan (or anyone else for that matter). You only tout that you’re using Rowan’s “unaltered” rules which I’ll add have been around longer than either you or I have been in RP. So, you say move forward yada, yada, yada yet you’re using combat rules created years and tears ago.

Bâsħîr¤PĦ¥¤ÇPؤÀdmSep 28, 2018 10:37 PM

From another thread: I don't see any reason to reinvent the wheel. The commonly accepted rule of roleplay have been in effect for quite some time now, and needs us to reinforce them. Feel free to suggest a change......but for me, I'm satisfied with they way they are now. Roleplay went south because "you don't pay for my internet so I can do what I want" with no consequence, and even then, their rooms became more D/s chat than Gorean roleplay.

ThieryWSep 28, 2018 11:09 PM

It’s easy to adhere to “whatever rules” on the internet. Meanwhile those of us who are happy with the rules we’ve adhered to for years and years are dinosaurs.

JudasWSep 29, 2018 12:03 AM

People wont adhere to rules that don't suit them. Who is in charge is a issue because there are those that just want to lead a home and be the boss, its their way or nothing. The idea fr the "Trading Post" was to have a panel of 3 , 1 Judge and 2 advisors, and any incidents, were taken to the Court for clarification. No One person is the Boss. Common Gor Law rules, and the rules or rp that have been used for years are what its run by, not the bullshit gor we see now.

I’ll be an advisor. I’m an Ubar maker, not an Ubar.
