I am just a Man that lives life , real and roleplay with one golden rule
If I have some thing to say, to any one , I confront them and I say it. How it results who knows but its face to face and No where to hide.
In Rp I have lived the same. In Gor I hide from No One and confront any one and tell them what I think.
Today started as a good day, with fresh ideas, etc
I sat with a few People and had a good open discussion with positive debate .
Not one said anything negative, We even set up a group
Then life called and I had to go;
wasnt till after Ieft then some comments were made
We were there for some time discussing this new idea.
Everyone has their right to an opinion, I dont care in what was said its WHEN it was said
I really dont give a shit but it pisses Me off that people dont speak up, and may be just maybe we wont waste our bloody time here.
You had ample time to simply say that to My face. Thats simply shallow.....
I still am Judas.......... Not #@$*#$@ Happy

I think everything that was discussed was perfectly logical and well thought out. As far as speaking My mind goes I say what I think after I have considered all that has been said because I believe it to be illogical to speak without knowing all the relevant facts of a matter regardless of who is or isn't present. I listened, I considered, I formed an opinion and I spoke it. I said nothing then that I would not say now. I believe that what was discussed will work if given time and dedication.
It's going to take time, effort, and dedicated people to make it happen but it can work. I know this for a fact because it works very well for My Home and the related Group. The main thing as I see it is the need to assemble an experienced team of knowledgeable people with strong values and dedication to something beyond themselves who are willing to put aside their personal likes or dislikes in order to build a substantial foundation which can stand on its own so that it becomes self sufficient
beyond just the presence of one or two key people. Things should run smoothly and consistently with or without a Host present to control it. People should know what's expected and stay within those guidelines already established by the Books, in My humble opinion. That's how it's done in the Gorean Frontier and it works for Us, so logically I see no reason it wouldn't work elsewhere. I hope it does work elsewhere, we truly need more functional Homes with more than two people at any given time.
In the end, it all boils down to people making a decision to be a part of something, getting involved and coming into roleplay. That's what makes or breaks the deal, people agreeing to set aside their differences to work toward a common goal, or not.
Haigen, we're glad what we discussed works for your home.
Now how 'bout you come out of your home, bring those ideas with you, and help make it work role play wide?
Last night was a good start, so be one of those people to make it work.
I've been around a long time now and based on My experience with several Homes that numerous other people have supported and freely opened up to all of Gor for this exact reason over the years and having seen very little positive response to those efforts I no longer believe that Gor will be reunified. I believe that people will continue to talk about it without ever committing to actually doing it by entering role play with open minds being set on making progress for Gor as a whole.
I have no issue with supporting a good cause but I have seen nothing in several years now that would make Me think that any one Home is better than another. The people make the Home, not vice versa; nor does a Home build itself, its Citizens build it block by block together. What I see is a very divided population of Goreans that cannot or will not even agree to put aside the past for the sake of the future. The past being sacred is one of the very cornerstones of online Gorean Society.
I fully support the idea of one room for all of Gor, I have for years now. However in the same vein that You ask Me why do I not come out from My home for this, I now ask You why You do not enter Mine for it?
“ Listens to everyone since I’m not active at said moment “
I rarely jump in someone else's blog, but this is something a group is discussing, and I think I can add some fuel to the fire.
The point of a "one room for everyone to meet" is to get everyone out of their own, and into one not owned by anyone, or at least controlled by loose rules agreed on by a majority of the visitors. Why should we go to *your* home, Haigain, knowing this? Or anyone else's?
Everyone has something they dislike about everyone else's home. I'm sure some could name a few about yours. I can, but what'd be the point, there'd be no change after pointing them out. A room for all to visit though, would negate just about all those unnecessary hangups of dislikes about random homes. This isn't about you, except for now, where it's *at* you instead.
I was considering opening Brundisium again, just for this purpose. Will see what I can do. Will be an unpaid room.
"one Home not owned by anyone" is impossible, there's always an Owner. The One Home thing has been tried before multiple times by multiple people, it hasn't worked so far because it has never been embraced, that's exactly why there are multiple Homes now. It isn't like this option has been made available before, THE number one most popular blog on Buzzen is about this very thing from years ago when Helisto proposed it then opened Brundisium for this exact purpose. Has something changed now? No.
I also did this exact same thing a year ago with the room "GOR." Same concept, same rules, same lack of support. I truly hope it works one day because in theory, it's a great idea, however in reality what it boils down to is "who is willing to support whom? Who trusts whom? Who tolerates whom? Who agrees with whom's roleplay? Who agrees with whom's judgment?" In the end, Gor has cliques and to deny that makes one either a fool or a liar. Homes are cliques of like minded people, that's reality.
Clique, a small group of people, with shared interests or other features in common, who spend time together and do not readily allow others to join them.....See that? That's the definition of a clique and Gor both, right there.
Worked a long time ago, though I can't claim credit for it. It's possible, I've seen it, experienced it. You don't have to live there if you don't want to, it's not meant to be a permanent home but a place for multiple people to interact and mingle, and eventually, go home.
As for cliques, yes, i agree. But why are people we don't know occasionally referred to as "Stranger"? Gor book cities were the same way. Shun the outsider, kill if necessary. People are inadvertently Gorean.
I told someone in Skype not too long ago that if you have to write down your ethics if you aren't sure about them, you don't have any. People already know how to act, and if they don't like someone who's there already, they can suck it up and move on, out, or to another part of the city, or wherever they are, Gor's pretty big. I'm not insisting everyone participate but it'd be nice if people did. Make a generally agreed set of acceptable rules...which is pretty much every home's rules.
After that you state what's there, what's possible to be there, and leave it to the people to make their own stories. If they want to make something not listed, it can get brought up in a meeting, decided, and yes'd or no'd. Civil disputes, same way. Probably fines or work, which would hurt feelings..."I'm ALWAYS RIGHT, I'M ME!", but it's still rp, and if they're tougher than the average whiner, they'll be the better for it.
The possibilities are almost endless. There can be a lot of good.
I’m not sure when online or book Gor was ever unified. In my 10-11 years in RP Gor I have never seen it where Gor was unified and everyone got along. Sure we had various cities/camps ( I refuse to use “homesâ€. To BDSM) or whatever that were friends, but not everyone. We also don’t like each other much I don’t think. There are some blogs I read and wonder to myself how some people here are let online unsupervised. I’m sure I’m not everyone’s favorite person either (as hard as that is to believe),
but so be it. I’ll kick in and give this a chance there’s a lot to lose, but more to gain.
We already have a set of agreed upon rules.....
