To Whom it May Concern on Gor

Dear Fellow Gorean Roleplayers,

Due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding a typist’s apparent inability or unwillingness to follow established Gorean protocols, customs, and codes, I hereby make the following declaration on this day, October 4th, in the Earth year 2026.

I, the typist of Melete, do hereby declare that I neither acknowledge nor will I ever acknowledge the character known as Kyrielle in any setting, present or future.

It has become abundantly clear to me, and to anyone who has taken the time to properly research the world in which we are roleplaying, that this character does not conduct herself in accordance with the established expectations of a Gorean Free Woman. The books themselves establish certain distinctions regarding the conduct, limitations, and social position of women within Gorean society. Among these are the expectations that Free Women do not openly challenge men as warriors and that women are not suited to wielding the long, heavy swords traditionally carried by men, given the considerable weight and physical strength required.

These are not arbitrary distinctions invented by individual roleplayers; they are elements of the world we have collectively chosen to portray.

Furthermore, I will extend that same boundary to those who knowingly choose to roleplay alongside said character. Their characters, actions, and storylines will hold no relevance to me or to Melete, and I will neither acknowledge nor incorporate them into my roleplay.

This is not an invitation for debate, nor is it a request for anyone’s approval. It is simply a declaration of where I stand and how I choose to conduct my own roleplay moving forward.

Sincerely,

The Typist of Melete
