Yin to my Yang

Dearest Master,

Twice now, you have written such beautiful words to and about me. You have made it abundantly clear, even in the face of those who have tried to come between us, that I am not just a slave, but that I am YOUR slave.

Yes, we have faced a few hurdles, and yes, some of those hurdles were big ones, but we overcame them. Others have tried to come between us, but they did not succeed. I believe every situation and every challenge has done nothing but make us stronger. Each and every one has reminded me that, in the end, what we have is worth standing together for.

I have had the greatest pleasure in being your light during your dark days, and I am so proud that I can be your calm when you experience emotional turmoil.

BUT; You don’t just have me to see to your needs; you see to mine as well. You genuinely look after my well-being, and you have a way of calling me the sweetest and most beautiful names that can melt me in ways you probably know all too well.

You also know when I need your boot on my neck and your hand fisted in my hair because, oh, my Master, there are certainly times when I need exactly that! By golly, you are the one who knows how to give me the strength I need, whether it’s when I need someone to bring me back down to earth, when I need a firm hand to keep me in line, or when I simply need someone to lean on during one of my treatment sessions.

You are the yin to my yang.

As you said, it’s not a you-and-me thing; it’s an US thing. And as long as we have each other, that’s exactly what it will always be.

Anyone else who comes along should understand one thing: You may hold the chain, but I am the key.
