Hello, everyone. This is the typist behind Melete, and I have a few bones to pick with a few of you… specifically, the typists of certain Vendara Goreans.
Today, my blog was hijacked by a ranting woman who apparently believed she was somehow rescuing me from a Gorean FM with whom she has a personal issue. She went so far as to tell me I was welcome for the lesson, as though I owed her some sort of gratitude for her unsolicited interference. Let me make one thing perfectly clear: I neither asked for nor needed rescuing.
When said FM responded to her on my blog, she proceeded to challenge him to a duel to the death. Now, tell me, just how Gorean is that? A FW does not challenge an FM unless she is Taluna or Panther Girl. This FW has an Ubar, does she not? So why isn’t her Ubar the one taking up that challenge? And while we’re at it, is said Ubar going to hold his FW accountable for sticking her rather considerable nose into business that does not concern her?
Furthermore, said Ubar should not assume that because he has enjoyed good relationships with Panther Girls in the past, he can expect the same with my character. Melete is not them. The Wild Women of the Forest neither work with nor serve men from any city, nor do they take kindly to men entering their Forest to build forts, wage battles, and leave things burning in their wake. Tsk, tsk.
Now, for anyone else who may need a reminder, Melete is not some soft, lovey-dovey woman who needs rescuing, defending, or someone to fight her battles for her. With the exception of a certain panther cub and one particularly obnoxious man who possesses the actual strength and ability to stand against her, and defeat her if necessary, she has very little use for such nonsense. Melete is a Panther Girl. She is fierce, deadly, dangerous, and more than capable of handling herself. Do not mistake her moments of tenderness for weakness.
As for her FM, he is perfectly capable of being reached if anyone has a genuine concern about his roleplay, mine, or the way we choose to write our story together. However, I would strongly advise against approaching either of us with unsolicited instructions on how we should conduct our roleplay. Neither of us makes a habit of telling others how to write their characters or conduct their stories, and we expect that same courtesy in return.
I come here for fun, adventure, creativity, and the enjoyment of writing. I do not come here for drama, unsolicited lectures, or someone else’s personal vendettas. However I do thank those who reached out to check on me, I appreciate your doing so.
Perhaps we can all remember that there is a difference between looking out for someone and inserting yourself into business that isn’t yours. Play your character, enjoy your story, and allow the rest of us to do the same.
Take care, and happy roleplaying.
